HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) - Reynaldo Orona is wanted for attempted murder in Hobbs, New Mexico. Orona allegedly shot a Hobbs man in the stomach and then fled the scene.
Police responded to the 100 block of East Wolfcamp Drive in Hobbs at 1 a.m. on Wednesday in reference to a shooting.
Officers learned that Orona had allegedly banged on the window of a home until the two residents came out to talk to him. Orona and Sergio Garza, 31, got into an argument. At that point, according to witnesses, Orona used a handgun to break the screen door and then shot Garza in the stomach.
Orona left the area driving a white pickup truck, according to witnesses.
Police later located that truck, but did not find Orona. Police believe Orona may be driving a blue 1977 Thunderbird with New Mexico plates of FAZ222.
The resident drove Garza to Lea Regional Hospital. He was later airlifted to a Lubbock hospital.
Orona is wanted for first-degree attempted murder, aggravated burglary and tampering with evidence.
Anyone with information on Orona's whereabouts is asked to call Hobbs Police at (575) 393-2677 or Crime Stoppers at (575) 393-8005.
