ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A 3-year-old boy is safe Tuesday morning after a man allegedly left him in a car sliding down a hill Monday.

Sandoval County Sheriff’s deputies say Darrel Vigil was drunk and had the young boy is his backseat. When his car started sliding down a hill, north of San Ysidro, deputies say Vigil got out but left the kid in the car.

Vigil is facing DWI charges and child abuse.
