ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The suspected drunken driver accused of killing an Albuquerque toddler has been indicted by a grand jury.
Last month Mariano Salaz, 20, was driving on Coors Boulevard NW when he rear-ended a vehicle with the Griego family inside. He then took off, police said.
Vicente Griego, 2, who was sitting in the back in a child seat suffered serious brain damage and died several days later.
Salaz was indicted on charges of vehicular homicide, great bodily harm by vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident, driving the wrong way, aggravated battery on a peace officer, and resisting and evading charges.
Salaz remains locked up in the Metropolitan Detention Center.
