ALBUQUREQUE (KRQE) - Police say the man caught on two different bait car videos was at it again but it looks like his breaks are over.
Police arrested Anthony Chavez Friday for stealing a car another charge to add to his long rap sheet, including trying to steal two bait cars.
Police say his crimes have left behind probably 15 to 20 victims.
In court Saturday, a judge was going to set bond at 5-thousand dollars cash or surety...until an a-p-d officer and a detective spoke up.
“[He] came onto our radar screen last year…he's been arrested about five times for property crimes. Every time he gets out he reoffends within two weeks to a month I would ask that you consider a cash only bond,” Lt. Lopez said.
The judge took their advice increasing Chavez’s bond to $25,000 cash only.
An APD detective says he's working on seven more cases against Chavez.
