SOCORRO, N.M. (KRQE) - A jury has found a man who left a Socorro woman in a car trunk to bake to death guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
John Hayden was charged with first degree murder but a jury reduced it to involuntary manslaughter which carries a maximum of 18 months in jail.
Theresa Saiz was stuffed in the trunk of her car last June and left in 102 degree heat.
She called 911 for help but died before deputies found her.
Hayden was also found guilty of aggravated battery but not guilty of kidnapping.
