ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) - A man who was just arrested for kidnapping a child at gunpoint mouthed off to the judge hearing his case.

Judge Daniel Ramczyk set bond for Fermín Saavedra at $250,000 and told Saavedra he didn't appreciate the lack of respect.

Now Albuquerque police are hoping that's the final straw that will keep Saavedra locked up for good.

Police say they have arrested Saavedra 25 times in the last eight years and note Saavedra even made APD's most wanted list for property crimes. His latest charge includes an accusation that he burst into a home and kidnapped a 2-year-old boy last month.

The boy is safe, but Saaveda was on the run until deputies found him during a traffic stop on Friday.

Saavedra remains locked up and has not posted bond.
