Man blames his drug dealing on Mom

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man accused of selling meth told police he was dealing drugs because his Mom wouldn’t give him money to live off of.

Earlier this month Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Vaughn Godwin after he sold meth to a confidential informant.

Deputies conducted a search of Godwin’s apartment in Northeast Albuquerque which they say had been trashed.  At first Godwin, an admitted meth-user, blamed his friends for trashing the place but later confessed saying he was responsible for the damage.

Godwin then took the mother blame game a step further and turned his mother in, claiming she sold pot, in hopes that they would not arrest him for damaging the apartment.  His attempt was unsuccessful.

On Sunday Godwin faced a judge on property damage charges.
