ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A man police say was walking in traffic on Central Avenue is in critical condition after being hit by a car Friday night.

The man, whose name has not been released, was walking in the middle lane east of Louisiana Boulevard when he was struck, police said.

The man is reported to have suffered severe head trauma and two broken legs.  The severity of the man's injuries brought out the Albuquerque Police Department team that specializes in investigating fatal crashes.

Police said the driver didn't see the man in time and is not facing any charges.
