Man arrested after killing in Springer

SPRINGER, N.M. (AP) - An arrest has been made in connection with a killing in the small northern New Mexico community of Springer. State Police said Monday they arrested 21-year-old John E. Martinez of Springer on suspicion of murder.

Police responded to a residence late Saturday night and found the body of 45-year-old Troy Ledoux of Raton. Investigators say Ledoux was shot to death.

According to a statement given by Martinez, Ledoux stole an unknown amount of drugs from him. Martinez allegedly confronted Ledoux at the residence.
