ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - "Where’s the beef?"
That's what police wanted to know after being called out to a report of a meat thief.
Officials say Alejandro Duran is behind bars Saturday and aced a judge on embezzlement charges.
Police say he stole nearly $600 worth of frozen meats from Route 66 Casino, where he works.
A criminal complaint says Duran used a trash can to wheel out the goods from a meat vault to his car.
Saturday in court the judge learned this Duran's eighth arrest for theft so he bumped up his bond.
“Sir I’m going to set your bond at $5,000 cash or surety, I’ll let you deal with some of those other things,” a judge said.
Police say Duran was not working the day of the alleged theft but did use his key card to get to the meat vault.
