ALBUQUERQUE (AP) - A Washington, D.C., man has pleaded not guilty to allegedly defrauding a Santa Fe company.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says 59-year-old Daryl J. Hudson III was arraigned Thursday in federal court in Albuquerque on seven counts of wire fraud.
Authorities say Hudson is accused of falsely making Bluenergy Solarwind Inc., a manufacturer of green energy-related equipment, believe he could secure debt funding for the company.
They say Hudson, who is CEO of a company that helps start-up businesses obtain funding, provided Bluenergy with false documents in 2011 to get a $85,000 retainer.
Prosecutors say Hudson used telephone calls and emails to carry out his scheme.
If convicted, Hudson could face up a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison.
