CEDAR CREST, N.M. - Bernalillo County deputies are investigating a one-vehicle rollover near Cedar Crest and whether some type of medical episode contributed to the death of the elderly driver.
The accident happened just after 1 p.m. at State Road 14 at Corte de Cañoncito north of Cedar Crest. The investigation is continuing, but deputies said the man driving the minivan may have suffered a heart attack.
The northbound driver lost control rounding a curve, and the van rolled about 25 feet ending up in a ditch.
Deputies summoned an air ambulance, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash closed NM14 in both directions until about 3 p.m.
