LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - People in Los Lunas are going to see something unusual roaming the streets.

The Los Lunas Police Department has purchased a Sentinel electric vehicle.

The vehicle will mostly be used to patrol neighborhoods and will cost 1 cent per mile to operate.

The Sentinel adds to the already unusual patrol vehicles used by LLPD.

They also patrol regularly on Seaways.

The sentinel can travel up to 29 mph and cost the department $9,000.
