LAS CRUCES (KRQE) - A Las Cruces man will be serving a mandatory life sentence for killing his ex-wife.
Horace Carlos Solomon Jr. was found guilty on eight counts including first-degree murder.
He murdered his ex- wife, Jenny Bates, 35, in August 2011.
The Las Cruces Sun-Nimes reports Soloman also faced kidnapping and child-abuse charges because after stabbing bates he held two children, 10 and 13, hostage until police arrived.
