ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A section of northeast Albuquerque is back to normal after a SWAT standoff early Wednesday morning.
Police were called at about 2-am to a home in the 8500 block of Prestina NE near Osuna Road and Wyoming Boulevard.
Police say a woman says her son came home and begin to hit her. She was able to call police and leave the home.
Police called in SWAT after learning the son had access to knives and machetes.
The situation lasted for about seven hours until the son came out of the home peacefully.
He's facing charges of battery on a household member and false imprisonment.
