LOVINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) - A Hobbs man has been arrested in the especially brutal murder of his girlfriend.

Lea County sheriff's deputies say Timmithy Stover, 27, and Candiace Boone, 28 got into a fight Tuesday and that Stover drove to a home where he held the two residents at gunpoint and forced them to help duct tape Boone's wrists and ankles.

He then allegedly stuffed a sock in Boone's mouth and beat her repeatedly in front of a child at the home.

Deputies say he had one of the homeowners record the beating on a cell phone.

Stover also admitted to injecting Boone with meth before their argument.

When the two residents later checked on Boone they found her dead.  Medical investigators are working to figure out exactly what killed her.
