FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) - A man accused of raping and murdering a woman in the parking lot of a Farmington church has been found not guilty of all charges.
On Friday a jury found there was not enough evidence to convict Marvin Williams.
Williams and two other men were accused of raping Loretta Benally inside a van parked outside the Maranatha Fellowship Church in 2010.
Benally died from her injuries.
Williams spent two years behind bars awaiting trial.
The other two men pleaded guilty to rape and kidnapping charges.
The district attorney's office called it a "tough case" to begin with because prosecutors did not have DNA evidence or primary witnesses without credibility problems.
