ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Dona Ana County has agreed to pay a brutally mistreated jail inmate $15.5 million.

Stephen Slevin was arrested for drunk driving in 2005, put in solitary confinement and was ignored for two years.

At one point he was forced to pull his own tooth.

He later sued and a jury awarded him $22 million.

The county appealed that but has now agreed to settle for $15 million.
