Jail inmate escapes from hospital

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A female jail inmate being treated at UNM Hospital escaped custody Tuesday afternoon and remains at large.
Valerie Guzman, 26, fled about 12:30 p.m., according to a statement from the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center.
The nature of Guzman's ailment and details of her escape were not released.
A search of the area failed to find Guzman. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked contact a local law-enforcement agency.
Guzman was booked into MDC on Sunday on multiple charges including burglary and possession of a firearm by a felon.
