Inmate who fled hospital recaptured

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A jail inmate who escaped during a medical visit to UNM Hospital earlier this month is locked up once again.
Officers acting on a tip found and arrested Valerie Guzman at the Motel 6 on University Boulevard near Interstate 40, an Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson said Wednesday.
Police reported Guzman ran from the hospital on Feb. 13 and got away despite officers swarming the area. She had been arrested two days earlier on charges that included burglary and felon in possession of a firearm, according to the Metropolitan Detention Center.
She is now back at MDC held without bond on escape charges.
