ALBQUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Officers with APD Vice Unit made several arrests after conducting a Hotel John Operation.
Cops say one man showed up looking to pay for sex while his three young children waited in the car.
Maurice Henderson allegedly responded to an undercover ad on a website. When Henderson responded to the location police arrested him, that’s’ when he told officers he had his kids with him.
Officers were able to find the kids, ages 6, 2, and 1, and get them out of the car.
“It was cold, there was no heater on in the vehicle, the children did not have jackets. This is an absolute travesty that these children were placed in this position,” Sgt. Ferris Simmons told KRQE News 13.
Police say the three children were returned to their mother.
Henderson was in court Sunday, charged with three counts of child abuse.
The Hotel John operation led to 12 arrests total.
