SANTA FE (KRQE) - Within a few hours Santa Fe police investigating a homicide at a senior residential center had two suspects in hand being question about the killing.
Just before noon officers responded to the Villa Hermosa senior center and apartments on Luisa Street near St. Francis Drive and Columbia Street.
Police put out a bulletin for the victim's car, and at about 3:30 p.m., the Rio Arriba County sheriff and his lieutenant spotted that car at the Walgreens in Española.
By late afternoon Santa Fe police were questioning those two suspects described only as a man and a woman both in their 20s.
The Santa Fe Police Department said they believe the body is that of 75-year-old George Ortiz who lived in that apartment.
Ortiz was a volunteer cook and helped deliver meals to other elderly residents in the apartment complex.
