Hobbs teen arrested for murder

HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) - A teenage boy was arrested Tuesday for the murder of an elderly Hobbs woman.

Hobbs police arrested Juan Rivas Jr., 15, on Tuesday after finding a car , tied to the homicide investigation, in the young man’s possession.

Police prompted the investigation after responding to a welfare check at the elderly woman’s Hobbs home. Officials have not released the identity of the victim.
