Gallegos pleads not guilty in DWI case

VALENCIA COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) - The Belen mother accused of driving drunk and critically injuring her daughter pleaded not guilty Tuesday morning in Valencia County District Court.

Hope Gallegos is charged with aggravated DWI and child endangerment.

Investigators said she crashed her pickup into a pole near Peralta in late November after a night of drinking.

Gallegos' 16-month-old daughter is being cared for by family members.

Gallegos is currently in jail.
