ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - It started with a fight and a finger bite and ended with a crash and arrest.

Albuquerque police say Leandro Sage beat up his girlfriend at their apartment Wednesday night near Central Avenue and Juan Tabo.

Her brother got involved, and that's when police say Sage bit off the end of his left pinkie finger.

Sage took off running but was hit by a car just west of the apartments.

He was taken to a hospital, treated and then arrested.
