ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The former San Juan County deputy who beat a suspect with his flashlight was sentenced in federal court Friday but won't spend any time behind bars.
In March 2011 Dale Frazier was questioning Donovan Tanner and his brother about a fight at a bar.
Frazier claims Tanner tried to grab his flashlight, but dash-camera video showed the deputy repeatedly hitting him with it on the hood of his patrol car.
Frazier was fired.
On Friday he was sentenced to three years supervised probation plus a $10,000r fine to cover that cost.
