SANTA FE (KRQE) - Counterfeit money has been making its way around Santa Fe and police say an ex-officer and his brother are responsible.
Santa Fe police arrested Anthony and Dominic Rivera over the weekend – the men are accused of making fake $100 bills.
Anthony Rivera used to be a Santa Fe cop for nearly 20 years – he’s currently an officer with the Tesuque Tribal police
Investigators say they believe there was a number of locations throughout Santa Fe where the fake bills were passed – one of those places was Kohl’s.
Officer had been watching the two brothers for awhile – they are now trying to figure out if any other people were involved.
