DULCE, N.M. (AP) - New Mexico authorities caught the second of two escaped Colorado jail inmates Friday, less than a day after police officers fatally shot the other in northern New Mexico.
A New Mexico Department of Public Safety spokesman, Peter Olson, says 24-year-old Jason Snow was found hiding in an outhouse about 7:30 a.m. after law enforcement officers tracked him once the sun came up.
Thursday afternoon, state police and Jicarilla Apache tribal police acting on a tip found Snow and 45-year-old Clifford Reseigh in an abandoned trailer in a remote area near Dulce.
Olson says Reseigh was killed by tribal police when he tried to attack officers, and Snow escaped.
