Valencia County (KRQE) - Seventy officers from more than half a dozen agencies descended on two communities to arrest  some key suspects in an early morning raid in Valencia County.

It was the work of the Valencia County Sheriff's Department and the Region one narcotics task force which is comprised of agencies from all over the state.

The teams descended on the communities of El Cerro Mission and Meadowlake Thursday morning to serve search and arrest warrants related to drugs, guns, shootings and property crime.

Sheriff Louis Burkhard says they are all connected and have been a continuing problem in the county.

The suspects were surprised just after 5 am. Many of them, still in their pajamas, slippers and socks were hauled off to jail.

Sheriff Burkhard warns that these types of raid are not over. The task force has helped increase their manpower and enable them to better tackle the criminal element they have been struggling to stop.
