RIO RANCHO, N.M. (KRQE) - A three-man DWI unit in Rio Rancho is getting a lot of drunk drivers off the streets.

Rio Rancho recently reinstated the team temporarily and in just three months, the unit arrested 69 drivers for DWI.

They also made 44 more arrests for other traffic violations and handed out 724 citations and 76 warnings for other offenses.

The city of Rio Rancho hopes to eventually make the DWI unit permanent.
