ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A former New Mexico cabinet secretary, who was arrested for driving drunk three days after being named to a post in the Obama administration, will assume her federal job in the coming weeks.
Cindy Padilla pleaded no contest to her first DWI offense in Santa Fe Municipal Court and received a deferred sentence.
The DWI charge resulted from a traffic stop in Santa Fe on Oct. 24.
