MEADOW LAKE, N.M. (KRQE) - Valencia County deputies have released the name of the hit-and-run driver they say rammed into three cars Thursday afternoon but don't know yet if he'll be charged with DWI.
Deputies are waiting on a blood test from David Benavidez, 25, who is accused of hitting two cars and leaving the scene of both crashes.
A short time later, deputies say he crossed into oncoming traffic on Meadow Lake Road and rammed head-on into a pickup truck.
Benavidez was last listed in critical condition after emergency surgery.
Two people others were taken to a hospital for treatment and released.
