ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Two women face drug charges after an undercover heroin buy led to a crash near Albuquerque's Old Town Wednesday.
The undercover operation went down late in the afternoon at 14th Street NW and Marble Avenue where agents allege Joanna Azua, 63, offered to sell them an ounce of heroin for $1,000.
At some point Roxann Garcia, 42, is believed to have spotted another drug agent and tried to get away in an SUV, the agents reported. That's when she threw the SUV into reverse and backed into an unmarked police car.
Azua and Garcia are charged with possession of a control substance with the intent to distribute while Garcia faces an additional charge of aggravated battery on a police officer without great bodily harm.
