ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Police say a drunken 21-year-old drove his Jeep into a home early Sunday, causing first his car and then the home to catch on fire.
The Jeep Heath Miller was driving burst into flames just moments after he crashed into a home on the 1500 block of Vista Monte around 2 a.m. Sunday.
That fire quickly spread to the house but firefighters were able to get to the scene quick enough to extinguish the house fire but not before the Jeep was completely charred.
Neighbors say they woke up after hearing what sounded like a bomb going off. One neighbor said he was shocked that anyone could have survived the crash.
Miller was arrested at the scene and charged with aggravated DWI and reckless driving.
