ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An Albuquerque man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a 2-year old boy pleaded not guilty Friday.

Mariano Salaz entered his plea after being indicted by a grand jury in the case last week.

Salaz is accused of rear-ending a car near Coors Boulevard and Interstate 40 early on Aug. 25 after a night of drinking.

In the back of that car was 2-year old Vicente Griego who was badly injured and died six days later.

Salaz remains behind bars under a $250,000 bond.
