RATON, N.M. (KRQE) - A Raton doctor has been sentenced to 18 months behind bars for using his patients to get prescription drugs for himself.
Gilbert Aragón Jr., 48, pleaded guilty to trafficking prescription drugs.
He admitted back in 2009 to providing prescriptions to several former patients who then filled the prescriptions for hydrocodone and gave the pills to Aragón and his wife.
Aragon said the former patients did not have a legitimate medical need for the hydrocodone, and that he and his wife shared the drugs.
