ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Authorities have released more information about a Texas girl taken by her mother and later found in New Mexico.
Court documents show 11-year-old Jessica Smith was urged by her mother to slit her own wrists and kill herself while they were missing.
Police found them Sunday in a snowy wooded area near Taos.
Kimberly Smith is jailed in Taos waiting extradition.
An arrest warrant says the mother attempted to smother the girl with a rag and held a knife on her before taking her from their home in Fort Worth.
