LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - A Valencia County man who shot and killed his wife in front of their two kids has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Brandon Casias, 21, shot his wife Amber in their Meadow Lake home in May 2011 after an argument.
Casias admitted to holding the loaded gun to her head, but he claimed it went off accidentally when Amber pushed it away.
As part of the plea deal the District Attorney's Office dismissed the two counts of child abuse.
Casias faces up to 12 years in prison when he is sentenced in the next four to six weeks.
