ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Officials say Curry County Detention Center inmates caused a flood and started fires during a random search for contraband over the weekend.
The Clovis News Journal reports that an inmate broke off sprinkler heads Sunday evening during the search and caused minor flooding.
Officials say while deputies were containing that situation another inmate balled up a t-shirt and toilet paper, lit them on fireand threw them out of a cell.
The pod was locked down for 48 hours.
No injuries were reported.
