SANTA FE (KRQE) - District Attorney Angela Pacheco has the results of Scott Owens' blood alcohol test, but will not release them.
Owens, 27, is the man accused of causing a tragic crash which killed four Santa Fe teenagers.
Pacheco said she will not release the results because she wants to minimize pretrial publicity in the case, according to reports from the Santa Fe New Mexican.
Law enforcement officials said Owens smelled of alcohol after the crash last Sunday morning.
Witnesses on the scene also said something appeared to amiss with Owens.
"He is struggling to put his pants on, I don't know what. I mean, he sounds pretty drunk or out of it. I have no idea," a teenager told a dispatcher during a 911 call.
Police said Owens was driving his Jeep Cherokee in the wrong lane of the Old Las Vegas Highway when he slammed into the passenger side of a 1992 Subaru carrying five Santa Fe teens.
Owens has been charged with four counts of vehicular homicide and one count of causing great bodily harm by vehicle.
He's being held at the Santa Fe County Jail on a $3 million cash only bond.
The driver of the Subaru, Avree Koffman, is recovering at an Albuquerque hospital.
Her father said she is improving and staying awake longer. Koffman has also been able to sit up, stand up on one leg and has passed several memory tests.
