Attorney accused in hit-and-run

SANTA FE (KRQE) - A well-known Santa Fe attorney has been arrested after a hit-and-run crash left one man critically injured.

Carlos William Fierro, 36, faces charges including great bodily injury by vehicle.

Santa Fe police say the crash happened outside a bar in downtown Santa Fe. The driver was eventually stopped near the Santa Fe Convention center several blocks from the crash.

News 13 has learned his passenger is a state police sergeant assigned to Gov. Bill Richardson's security detail. That man has not been arrested or charged, but has been placed on administrative leave pending an internal investigation, according to a state police news release.
