ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) - Murder investigations in two New Mexico cities have police
looking high and low for killers Sunday, while victim's families
grieve.
In both murders, detectives have suspects in mind.
In Roswell Saturday night, a woman was shot and killed in her
car. At around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, police found the woman dead in
her bullet riddled car.
The passenger in her car was also struck by bullets and is in
critical condition.
Detectives said that they already have a person of interest.
Solving the case is one thing, but having to inform the victim's
family is a whole different burden for officers.
"That is probably the worst duty that a police officer has,
having to notify someone that her family member has been killed,"
Officer Travis Holley said.
The woman's murder comes only 48 hours after two men were
brutally shot and killed in Albuquerque at point blank range.
Police are looking for Gregory Meraz, 21, and Robert Romero,
22, in connection with to the killings. Both men face an open count
of murder.
