LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - A grand jury returned indictments late Thursday against Joe Easley, his daughter Jodi Easley, 18, and her boyfriend Cody Morgan, 19, in connection with the death of Sandra Sanchez.
Sanchez is the Corrales woman who disappeared in April and was found dead in Socorro culvert a few months later.
Easley is Sanchez's ex-boyfriend. He was indicted on charges of murder, tampering with evidence, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and conspiracy.
His daughter and her boyfriend were also indicted on counts on tampering with evidence and conspiracy.
Investigators said they believe the pair helped get rid of evidence in the case, including Sanchez's car which was found weeks after her disappearance in an Albuquerque hotel parking lot.
Sanchez's body was discovered a few days later in Water Canyon in Socorro.
Her family said the indictment brings them closer justice.
"I promised her I would bring her home; I brought her home. I promised I would get the people who did it; it looks like we are doing it," Sanchez's brother Dennis Maestas said.
Joe Easley turned himself in last month and remains in jail a no bond hold.
Jodi Easley and Cody Morgan will be given a summons to appear for an arraignment. Because Jodi was 17-years-old at the time of the alleged crimes, her case will be handled in juvenile court.
