LOS LUNAS, N.M. (KRQE) - Six people were arrested Tuesday morning as Valencia County sheriff's deputies, state police and the U.S. Marshal's Service knocked on hundreds of doors trying to catch hundreds of people wanted on warrants.
Among the arrests was James Woolberg, 20, who had four misdemeanor warrants and one felony warrant out for his arrest. Deputies had spent four months trying to find him.
"He was always fleeing. He always thought he was one step ahead of us," said Deputy Chris Trujillo with the Valencia County Sheriff's Department. "We were finally able to apprehend him today. It was a very good arrest."
Charges against Woolberg included traffic citations, forgery and identity theft.
Deputies said they're forced to do large operations like Tuesday's because fugitives think they can ignore the law.
The Valencia County Sheriff's Department holds roundups like this one twice a year.
