LAS CRUCES (KRQE) - Police have nabbed four of the seven fugitives who escaped from a halfway house in Las Cruces on Saturday.

The U.S. Marshals Service said tips and several law enforcement agencies working in concert led to the capture of the four men.

All four of the captured men were found in southern New Mexico.

Laurence Mose, 35, was found in the Las Cruces area around 4:00 p.m. Sunday. Otero County deputies caught up with Colby Edward Steele, 24, in a remote section of desert just outside Alamogordo. Escapee Brian Dolan, 32, was found at a Las Cruces hotel on Sunday morning.

Still at large:

  • David Luis Aguilera, 21, was doing time for distributing meth.
  • Mario Vasquez, 23, was convicted of federal drug and assault charges.
  • Ricardo Rael, 24, was doing time for weapons violations.

"Since it was so well coordinated we believe that they already had people assisting them with transportation and how they were going to get out. We are still working numerous leads in the Albuquerque area," U.S. Marshal Gordon Eden said.

It's still unknown exactly when the men made their escape, because they were discovered missing after a routine morning check.

If you see the escapees, do not approach them. Instead, call the U.S. Marshals Service's Las Cruces Division at 575-527-6850.
