LAS VEGAS, N.M. (KRQE) - New Mexico State Police said Tuesday that two teenaged girls missing from Las Vegas have been found safe.

State police had issued an endangered-persons alert on Monday for Kayla Esquibel, 13, and Anjelica Esquibel, 14, after the two cousins were reported missing by family members.

It's not clear where the girls were found, but state police said officials with that department, Las Vegas police and San Miguel County deputies found them with the help of family and friends.

Family members had told police the girls may have been in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Pecos or Las Vegas.
