ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A key player at the heart of a brawl that erupted at YDDC last month is in trouble again—this time for assaulting an officer.
Josh Martinez, 18, was one of the detainees involved in the April 15th melee that occurred in the YDDC gym.
Around 5:00 p.m. Saturday Martinez hit a guard in the mouth, according to Spokesperson Romaine Serna.
The guard is okay.
State Police responded to the juvenile facility, ready to charge Martinez and to take him to the adult detention center.
However Martinez complained of dizziness, so they left him with YDDC medical staff.
Serna said YDDC will turn Martinez over to state police once his illness has passed.
