ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - Officials have lifted down Jackson Middle School and Acoma Elementary School in northeast Albuquerque as police search for burglary suspects in the area.
Jackson Middle School was placed on lockdown shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Acoma Elementary School was placed on lockdown about 3:30 p.m.
Parents are being allowed to pick up their students if they have a vehicle and only at the schools' front entrances.
During lockdowns, school officials generally ask parents not to approach the school, but instead allow them to keep the students safe in their classrooms.
Albuquerque police are searching for two suspects they believe are responsible for recent burglaries in the area of Hannett Avenue and Tomasita Street NE, a few blocks east of Jackson.
