ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - An 18-year-old man suspected in the murder of a Catholic nun in Navajo, N.M., has been turned over to federal officials, News 13 has learned.

Navajo Nation authorities in Window Rock, Ariz., turned over Reehahlio Carroll, 18, to the FBI late Tuesday night.

Navajo Nation Chief Prosecutor Bernadine Martin was initially hesitant to make the move because she said the proper paperwork wasn't filed, but a federal judge ordered the transfer on Tuesday.

Carroll is charged on the reservation with reckless driving.

Carroll is in Albuquerque for an appearance in federal court on Thursday. He's suspected of murdering Sister Marguerite Bartz on Oct. 31 in the town of Navajo.
