Security guard hit with own baton

ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - A security guard at St. Mary's Catholic School in Albuquerque was attacked by a homeless man Monday morning.

Police said the guard approached the man at Sixth and Copper, and then the transient grabbed the guard's baton and hit him with it.

The officer then sprayed the man with pepper spray.

The man was arrested and taken to the Albuquerque Metropolitan Detention Center on an aggravated battery charge.

The security guard was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
